PruBSN Traditional Plan


PruBSN juga mempunyai beberapa pelan yang diyakini mampu dimiliki oleh semua peringkat lapisan masyarakat. Terdapat tiga (3) jenis pelan yang disediakan yang dinamakan PruBSN Protect, PruBSN Protect Plus dan PruBSN Crisis Cover.
 
1) PruBSN Protect ialah pelan yang mana memberi perlindungan kepada pemilik sehingga berumur 70 tahun yang mana berbeza dengan pelan-pelan perlindungan yang lain yang biasanya melindungi pemilik sehingga berumur 65 tahun sahaja.

2) PruBSN ProtectPlus pula adalah versi yang dipertingkatkan dari PruBSN Protect di mana jumlah yang dilindungi akan bertambah sebanyak 5% untuk setiap 3 tahun.

3) PruBSN CrisisCover memberi perlindungan terhadap 36 jenis penyakit kritikal dengan memberi pilihan kepada waris untuk menerima pendapatan bulanan sehingga 120 bulan bila melibatkan kematian pemegang polisi.

Plan PruBSN Protect merupakan sejenis Plan traditional yang memberi perlindungan kewangan akibat kematian atau lumpuh kekal keseluruhan disebabkan sebab2 bukan kemalangan. Ia juga ditambah dengan manfaat kematian atau lumpuh kekal keseluruhan akibat kemalangan dan beberapa manfaat yang berkaitan kemalangan yang lain.

Terdapat pula PruBSN Protect Plus yang menggandakan jumlah perlindungan sebanyak 5% dalam setiap 3 tahun secara automatik. Tujuan penambahan perlindungan ini adalah dengan mengambil kira kadar inflasi setiap tahun. Jadi, berkemungkinan jumlah perlindungan kewangan yang kita sign up sekarang nilai nya tersangat kurang pada masa akan datang. Jadi, ada satu kaedah / cara bagaimana kita ingin memberikan lebih perlindungan kewangan pada masa akan datang.

Antara manfaat dalam plan ini adalah
  • PruBSN Protect
Membayar pampasan disebabkan oleh kematian, atau lumpuh kekal keseluruhan sebelum umur 70 tahun.
  • PruBSN Protect Plus
Manfaat ini sama seperti manfaat di atas, cuma jumlah sum insured / sum covered akan bertambah setiap 3 tahun sebanyak 5%.
  • Accident Death and Disablement
Memberikan keluarga pemegang policy wang tunai sekiranya pemegang policy meninggal dunia atau hilang upaya kekal keselurhan disebabkan oleh kemalangan.
  • Accident Medical Reimbursement
Manfaat ini akan membayar semua kos rawatan kemalangan (tertakluk kepada jenis rawatan yang diberikan. Pemegang policy perlu membayar bill hospital/klinik terlebih dahulu, kemudian, baru kita buat claim ke PruBSN Takaful.

Pelan PruBSN CrisisCover merupakan satu plan baru yang dikeluarkan oleh PruBSN Takaful Berhad bagi memenuhi keperluan perlindungan kewangan pelanggan. Secara asasnnya, plan ini memberi perlindungan kewangan (pampasan) kepada pemegang polisi sekiranya beliau meninggal dunia atau disahkan mengidap salah satu daripada 36 jenis penyakit kritikal atau lumpuh kekal keseluruhan sebelum umur 70 tahun. 

Plan ini merupakan plan traditional (plan bertempoh / term plan). Namun ianya mempunyai nilai tunai. Pembahagian keuntungan pelaburan antara pemegang policy dan syarikat PruBSN Takaful Berhad adalah seperti berikut : 

Pemegang Policy : 80%
PruBSN Takaful Berhad : 20%

Plan ini memberi pilihan kepada pemegang policy yang sudah mempunyai plan insurance atau takaful lain (life policy, medical dan sebagainya) tapi ingin mendapatkan perlindungan tambahan sekiranya mengidap sakit kritikal. Sebenarnya, manfaat ini sama seperti manfaat rider Crisis Shield atau Crisis Shield Plus (dalam Plan Takafulink). Tapi, plan PruBSN CrisisCover hanya memberi pampasan kepada 3 perkara sahaja seperi yang saya sebutkan di atas.

Plan ini boleh didapati dengan caruman serendah RM 20 sebulan. Selain dari manfaat pampasan disebabkan penyakit kritikal, pemegang policy juga boleh attached dengan manfaat tambahan iaitu

  • Family Income Benefit
Manfaat ini memberikan orang yang anda kasihi pendapatan bulanan sekiranya anda kehilangan nyawam disahkan mengidap sakit kritikal atau hilang upaya kekal keseluruhan (TPD).
  • Spouse Contributor
Manfaat ini membayar sumbangan2 anda pada masa akan datang sekiranya pasangan anda meninggal dunia, atau disahkan mengidap sakit kritikal atau hilang upaya kekal keseluruhan.
  • Parent Contributor
Manfaat ini membayar sumbangan2 anda pada masa akan datang sekiranya ibu atau bapa meninggal dunia, atau disahkan mengidap sakit kritikal atau hilang upaya kekal keseluruhan.

Kesimpulannya, pada pendapat saya, plan ini adalah sebagai satu plan tambahan sekiranya seseorang itu ingin mendapatkan perlindungan kewangan disebabkan oleh risiko sakit kritikal, atau sesiapa yang ingin memulakan caruman bulanan dengan jumlah yang rendah disebabkan oleh kemampuan kewangan dan sebagainya.

Selain itu, plan ini juga amat sesuai kepada pemilik2 syarikat yang ingin memberikan perlindungan insurance / takaful sakit kritikal kepada pekerja2 mereka. Ini kerana dengan caruman yang rendah dan mampu milik, tidak menjadi satu bebanan kepada majikan untuk memberikan sedikit manfaat pekerja bagi memastikan pekerja terus setia bekerja dengan majikan.

Loyalty Bonus¹

This is benefit for being our loyal customer. You will earn this benefit when you complete your takaful period. Additionally, this bonus will also be paid in the event of death or total and permanent disability on top of your other takaful benefits
In order to ensure you have peace of mind during Hajj, you will also be given a Hajj allowance, which is a part of the loyalty bonus. The allowance is intended to supplement your expenses. You can also use it to ensure the financial needs of your family at home are taken care of whilst your perform your obligations in Mecca.

Withdrawals of savings for Hajj and Umrah

You can withdraw part of your savings from your account to supplement the need for your journey for Hajj or Umrah, subject to the following conditions:
  • Only 1 withdrawal is allowed for Umrah and Hajj each throughout the certificate term.
  • Withdrawals can only be made after the 5th certificate year
  • Each withdrawal must be at least RM500 and at most 70% of your account balance prior to withdrawing.
  • There must be a minimum balance of RM2,000 left in your account after withdrawal.

Death and Total and Permanent Disability Benefits (TPD)

Upon your death or total and permanent disability, you or your nominee will receive cash equivalent to your coverage i.e. takaful benefit amount.
In addition, your family will receive an additional RM2,000 as a form of compassionate benefit upon your unfortunate passing that could be used for funeral or other related expenses.

Double Your Takaful Benefits² While on Hajj or Umrah

You will receive double coverage i.e. takaful benefit amount, in the unfortunate case of your death or total and permanent disability (TPD) while performing your Hajj or Umrah.

Badal Hajj

In the event of your passing or suffering from total and permanent disability before you have the opportunity to perform Hajj, we will ensure your Hajj obligation is fulfilled by paying your nominee or a third party to perform Badal Hajj for you.

Critical Illness Benefits

We will provide you with a part of your basic coverage amount as a financial assistance if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.
Futhermore, we will also ensure that your protection and savings in the plan will continue as the takaful contributions will be paid continuously for you.
This cover is optional for this plan.

Islamic Will Writing We will arrange for you basic Islamic Will Writing service managed by Amanah Raya Berhad. This service is optional.

¹Loyalty bonus is non guaranteed benefit and subject to terms and conditions. There is waiting period of 5 years before you are eligible for the benefit.
²A waiting period of 3 years is applicable.


The loyalty bonus that you receive as Hajj Allowance can either be used as your pocket money upon your confirmation to go for Hajj, or it can also be used to secure the financial needs of your loved ones at home while you perform Hajj.

In addition, your loyalty bonus will continue to grow even after you have used it as a Hajj Allowance for as long as you continue to pay the contribution. The loyalty bonus will be payable subject to the events mentioned above.

Crisis Shield
Provides you with a part of your basic sum covered amount if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.

Contributor Pays for your annual PruBSN Ummah Takaful contributions if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.

The minimum monthly contribution is RM 50. However, your actual contribution amount shall depend on the following:
  • your age
  • your amount and term of coverage
  • your health status
  • your occupation (if applicable)
  • your gender
  • your payment method
  • the frequency of payment whether monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly
The Mudharabah allows you to share any investment profit from your account and Tabarru’ fund. You will receive 80% of the profit while we will receive 20% from it. Your profit will be placed back into your account and Tabarru’ fund respectively.
PruBSN Ummah is not a replacement for your Tabung Haji account. It complements your Tabung Haji savings by providing you with additional savings and takaful protection.

WHAT IS TAKAFUL??

The Islamic Insurance concept as known as Takaful (an Arabic word meaning “guaranteeing each other“) is a shariah compliance mutual risk transfer arrangement which involves participants and operators. Shariah is based on the Qur’an and Assunah. Takaful as a concept that some extent is similar to conventional mutual risk sharing such as Mutual Insurance and Protection and Indemnity Club (P and I Club). It is a mutual sharing of risk based on the concept of Taawun (Mutual Protection).The difference between Takaful and conventional insurance rests in the way the risk is assesed and handled, as wel as how the Takaful fund is managed.Further differences are also present in the relationship between the operator (under conventional insurance using the term : insurer) and the participants ( under conventional it is the insured or the assured. In tisk assesment (underwriting) and handling, Takaful do not allow what is called Gharar (uncertainty or speculation) and Maisir (i.e gambling). In investment or fund management Riba (i.e usury) is also not allowed. 

These three Gharar, Maisir and Riba are the areas that must be totally avoided by the Takaful operation, and where it differs with the conventional insurance In order to avoid Gharar, there must be a complete clarity or full disclosuer of any Takaful contract. Full disclosure is aplicable on both sides, i.e on both the subject matter and terms of the contract (scope of cover, etc). Its not allowable in to enter into a takaful contract if there is any unknown element on the subject matter and/or unknown exposure to the extent of the contract itself. As this ideal situation is hardly exist, the Takaful contract then need to be made in a way that there is no exchange of Gharar from one party to another. Maisir (gambling) is regarded as the excessive side of the Gharar. Whilst the participants (insured) may have an insurable interest in the subject matter, if the risk transfer (risk sharing in Takaful) contains any speculative element, the it is prohibited under the Takaful.

Riba (usury) is totally prohibited under the shariah law and under a Takaful arrangement. In order to avoid the Riba, Takaful treats participants’ contribution to the risk sharing scheme not as a premium in the way conventional insurance does. In Takaful terms it is treated as being a contribution (Mushahamah) in the from of donation with a condition of compensation (Tabarru). Furthermore, the pool of funds secured from those participants’ contributions or donations, must be managed and invested in accordance with the Shariah. In the same way that Gharar and Maisir represent a continous challenge for Takaful operators to ensure that pure Takaful arrangements are free of them, Riba free investment and fund management is also becoming a specialist discipline which requires more in depth elobaration.

Whilst risk are nature of human life, it is impossible to eliminate this nature from human life. What is not allowed in Islam is not the risk or uncertainty itself (so it need to be eliminated)- but selling or exchange of risk or risk transfer to the third party using sales/exchange contract that is not allowable. On the other hand helping each other in any situation including in the event misfortune is highly encouraged in Islamic teaching as Allah mentioned in the Qur’an
“….Help you one another in Al Birr and At Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression….’(Al-Maidah : 2).
Sharing the risk with the purpose to help each other is therefore recommendable.
